Accessibility Statement
HOMSICO is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including people using assistive technology, and to being transparent about where we currently fall short of that goal.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. This site targets WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
Based on our own internal review, this site is partially conformant: it meets many, but not all, of the WCAG 2.1 AA success criteria. "Partially conformant" means some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard yet. We have not commissioned an independent third-party audit; this statement reflects our own assessment.
What already works
- A skip-to-content link, semantic landmark structure (
header/nav/main/footer), and a logical heading hierarchy on every page. - Keyboard-navigable menus, with visible focus indicators on interactive elements.
- Meaningful
alttext on content images; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology. - Text contrast meeting WCAG AA minimums (4.5:1 for body text).
- Form fields with visible, associated labels, and required fields clearly marked.
- A cookie-consent dialog that traps focus correctly, is fully keyboard-operable, and can be dismissed with Esc.
Known limitations
We are actively working through the items below. None of them are hidden from us — they come directly from our own internal accessibility audit, which we keep versioned alongside the rest of this codebase.
- The mobile navigation menu's keyboard focus handling (focus trap, Esc to close, focus return to the toggle button) has not yet been fully verified against WCAG 2.1.1 / 2.4.3.
- Language-switch actions do not yet announce the change to screen reader users via an ARIA live region.
- Form validation errors are not yet fully wired into
aria-describedbyon every field. - This site has not yet been tested end-to-end with NVDA, JAWS, or VoiceOver — only with automated tooling and manual keyboard testing.
- French, Dutch, and Arabic translations have not yet been reviewed by native speakers for correctness, so some translated content may read awkwardly even where it is technically present.
